Product details
The Gesha Exploration Set offers a rare opportunity to experience how this variety expresses itself in different regions.
Both the Chinese and Brazilian samples are first crops, revealing a gentler, less intense profile than the more established Colombian and Panamanian coffees. It’s a fascinating look into how processing, age, climate, and soil all influence the flavor of the beans.
About the coffee:

- Brazilian (Patricia Farm 209) Gesha, Natural

Questions? We are here to help
1. Panamanian Gesha (Hacienda La Esmeralda – Buena Vista 3 WB)
Sourced from the world-renowned Hacienda La Esmeralda, this Panamanian Gesha is a masterpiece. Hand-picked and carefully processed, this coffee is harvested from the exclusive Buena Vista lot at El Velo Farm. Expect delicate jasmine aromatics and vibrant tropical fruit notes, all enhanced by 72-hour fermentation and sun drying on raised beds for 23 days. This cup is an explosion of elegant florals, rich fruit, and bright acidity, perfectly representing the unparalleled terroir of Panama.
Flavor Notes: Jasmine, tropical fruit, vibrant acidity.
2. Brazilian Gesha (Patricia Farm 209)
Experience a breakthrough in Brazilian coffee with Patricia’s very first Gesha harvest. Brought from Panama and grown in Brazil with passion and precision, this naturally processed coffee stands out with its unique combination of praline chocolate sweetness and the fresh complexity of forest fruits. This limited harvest reflects the dedication of a farmer bringing a new level of excellence to Brazilian coffee.
Flavor Notes: Praline chocolate, forest fruits, clean and delicate.
3. Colombian Gesha (Las Marias – Giraldo Jose)
Las Marias Estate is the latest addition to the Giraldo family farms. In his quest, Jose sought a farm with high elevation, surrounded by native forest, and optimal light conditions to enhance the quality of exotic coffee varietals. He found what he was looking for in Pijao, Quindio, a tiny town nestled in the heart of the Andes Mountains, known for its tranquility and natural beauty. During his search, he came across Las Marias, a farm that had been abandoned for over 20 years, overtaken by overgrown grass and invasive plants. Amidst this wild landscape, however, some rare coffee cherries were still thriving.
The farm had about 7,000 Typica trees, around 70 years old, but in a neglected state. Jose and his team worked to restore these trees and began selecting the finest genetics to cultivate at Las Marias. The Geisha variety became their prized focus. They sourced seeds from Panama and meticulously nurtured these delicate trees. For this Rio Dulce Double Washed Lot, only the finest selections of Geisha genetics from Las Marias were harvested. The cherries were picked at their peak ripeness, with a Brix level greater than 22.
Once picked, the cherries were transported to the Café 1959 facilities at La Clarita Drying Station. There, the coffee underwent pulping before being placed into closed tanks for an initial 24-hour anaerobic fermentation. Following this, the tank was opened, the coffee was washed, and then it was placed into a second closed tank for another 24-hour fermentation. Finally, the coffee was washed again, rinsed, and spread out on raised drying beds to complete the process.
The process concludes with milling, vacuum packaging, and dispatch, ensuring the highest quality for this exceptional coffee.
4. Yunnan China Gesha (Yunlan Estate – Hongjun Zhang)
From the Yunlan Estate in Yunnan, China, this Gesha coffee is a story of resilience and dedication. Sourced from seeds brought from Panama’s La Esmeralda Estate, the coffee is grown at 1750 meters in the pristine rainforest valley of Menghai County. The terroir of Yunnan imparts unique flavors, with notes of white tea and barley tea mingling with classic Gesha floral and pear nuances. This is a truly rare and refined coffee, representing both the essence of China’s coffee revolution and the global influence of the Gesha variety.
Flavor Notes: Floral, pear, white tea, barley tea.
