The Cafelat Robot Basket Plug is an extra accessory for the Cafelt Robot Espresso Maker. Made from food-grade silicone rubber, it serves two main functions: pre-heating the piston and checking the accuracy of the pressure gauge.

For pre-heating, the plug is inserted into the bottom of the basket, which is then filled with hot water. With the basket locked into the machine, the levers are pressed down and held for about 30 to 60 seconds, allowing heat to transfer to the piston. After pre-heating, the water is discarded, and the plug is removed before making espresso.

The plug can also be used to verify the accuracy of the pressure gauge. Preventing water from exiting the basket allows the gauge to display pressure readings without external factors influencing the result.

The plug has a diameter of approximately 5.8 cm and a thickness of 1.3 cm. It is lightweight and flexible, making it easy to insert and remove.
