Bio Fairtrade Dark chocolate made with Criollo cocoa beans from Peru – Amazon
The cocoa of this bar is grown by the Awajun Indians. The Awajun are traditional hunters and gatherers and live in the jungle of the Amazon rainforest in northeastern Peru . Cocoa originates from the rainforests of the Amazon. This Criollo cocoa comes directly from the cocoa soil.
With the income from this organic cocoa, the Awajun Indians can make a living and they are not forced to earn money by selling or cutting wood for agriculture and livestock. This bar contributes to the conservation of the tropical rainforest and the development of sustainable cultivation of cocoa.

About Chocolate Makers
In 2011, Rodney and Enver decided to become chocolate makers. Simply because making real chocolate is the best and most delicious thing there is!
We want to show people how real chocolate is made, from beans to bars. We do everything ourselves in our own factory in Amsterdam. We are the only Dutch chocolate company that has control over every link in the chain. This allows us to do everything as sustainably as possible .
We buy high quality organic cocoa directly from the farmers in Congo, Peru and the Dominican Republic . We do this for a good & fair price. We burn ourselves and take our time. Honest, tough, organic, Dutch and really tasty.
Real chocolate?
Real chocolate is chocolate that has been made with traditional methods. Conscious, durable and of top quality, with as few additives as possible. The taste of the bean is central. You can taste the region and conditions under which cocoa beans grow in the chocolate.
Chocolate Makers Mission
Building and operating a fully sustainable cocoa chain for making chocolate to show and experience that the cocoa chain can contribute to better chocolate and a better world.
We do this through direct cooperation with farmers (cooperatives), companies (from suppliers to retail) and consumers. Farmers receive an income from us that they can live on (we pay 50% more than the Fairtrade standard), nature must be preserved and even restored (reforestation), the CO2 footprint in transport and production must go to 0 kg CO2 per produced kg chocolate (!) and the consumer gets a healthy and super tasty chocolate.
