Frukt Coffee Roasters
Frukt Coffee Roasters, established in 2018, is a contemporary coffee roasting company based in Turku, Finland. The company focuses on crafting high-quality, small-batch coffee beans, emphasizing a modern approach to coffee roasting. Their offerings are categorized into two main taste profiles: “Fun” and “Exciting,” aiming to make the coffee experience both easy and approachable for consumers. The founder, Samuli, who previously worked with Coffee Collective, initiated Frukt Coffee Roasters with a commitment to quality and innovation, using a Loring roaster for their production. Additionally, Frukt is part of a unique initiative in Turku, contributing to the transformation of an old prison into a vibrant food haven, showcasing their commitment to community and local development
Long Miles Coffee Project
Long Miles Coffee was founded by Ben and Kristy Carlson in 2011, who moved to Burundi and noticed issues in the country’s coffee industry, such as injustice and poor farming practices. They also saw that roasters worldwide had trouble getting consistent coffee from Burundi. So, they started Long Miles Coffee to bring positive change to both farmers and roasters.
Their approach focuses on addressing the needs of both coffee farmers and roasters. When you buy coffee from Long Miles, you’re not just getting a quality product; you’re also contributing to coffee farming communities. They work with over 5,500 farming families in Burundi and plan to expand into Uganda and Kenya.
Long Miles Coffee creates traceable micro-lots of coffee, improving farmers’ livelihoods in three main ways:
They provide year-round agricultural assistance through trained Long Miles Coffee Scouts.
They pay higher prices for coffee cherries and offer annual premiums to farmers.
They establish strong relationships between roasters and farmers, allowing for consistent sourcing from specific hills year after year.
By choosing Long Miles Coffee, you become part of a team dedicated to making coffee a sustainable part of our future.
Denne var frisk! 🙂
Crispy, fresh and sweet.
Needs a bit coarser grinding than other Burundis I have tried.
Agreed!
Had a tough time dialing this in for espresso! Couldn’t shake the under developed undertones. Still a fun one to try !
Light, bright, juicy, just right 👌 ☕️
This was a weird one. Tried aeropress to get out the notes. But to crispy for me.
Recommandations for brewing is very welcome
Tangerine like gentle acid, a bit of cinnamon smells, and very special tea like aroma!
(hand brewed)
